About the Item
An amazing topographic wall mounted three-dimensional map of Antarctica. Midcentury. This incredible map shows off elevation, ice shelves, and scale of the continent. Some texts show off different locations and orientations. Sea depth is also indicated in the blue area around the main landmass. The continent is cast plaster from a mold while the ocean around is made from a large handmade and painted wood panel. D rings included on the back.
No obvious markings on the piece.
In very good condition. Some gentle wear consistent with age and use present on the sides.
Whether you are an adventurous type or a fan of science and history, this will start an interesting conversation anywhere. This impressive piece would make a great feature on a wall or ceiling in any home.
