About the Item

Wooden roundel turned from a single piece of walnut, with a rare stucco cast in the center depicting the biblical scene of the Tree of Life with Adam, Eve, and the serpent. The work, datable to the mid-17th century, has a molded profile frame and a central insert probably molded for decorative or functional use (ornamental mold). The engraving "S.A.C.R. 1655" is visible on the back. An object of great charm and fascination, combining sacred art and craftsmanship, preserved in condition compatible with its age: cracks and ancient consolidated fractures confirm the authenticity of the whole.
