Queen Size Parchment Bed by Aldo Tura for TURA Milano, 1960

14.900 €IVA inclusa

Informazioni sull’articolo

A majestic and unrepeatable creation by Aldo Tura, this 1960s double bed represents one of the highest expressions of the radical and sophisticated aesthetic of the great Milanese designer. Entirely clad in precious hand-dyed parchment in warm golden honey tones, it dominates the space as a true functional sculpture, designed to define exclusive interiors with strong architectural character. The solid, geometric outer frame outlines a pure, compact rectangle, seamlessly integrating two suspended nightstands—almost invisible in their perfect material continuity. The large flat headboard, also clad in parchment with meticulously hand-finished joints, completes the composition with a sense of rigor and theatricality reminiscent of monumental architecture. Parchment, Tura’s signature material, is here treated with exceptional craftsmanship: sanded, dyed, and polished to achieve a soft, vibrant surface that reflects light warmly and envelopingly, enhancing the natural chromatic variations and traces of time, now an integral part of its allure. Produced in a limited edition, this bed is a masterpiece of decorative cabinetry—a rare example of auteur design where art, craftsmanship, and vision converge into a unique piece of great historical and collectible value, bearing the TU RA maker’s mark. Aldo Tura, an eclectic and visionary figure, is today regarded as one of the most refined Italian masters of the postwar period. His works are increasingly sought after internationally for their strong identity and pioneering use of unconventional materials. A true museum-worthy icon, destined to enrich the most exclusive interiors.
