Rare Sculptural Gaetano Brass Floor Lamp by Luciano Frigerio, Italy 1960

5800 €IVA inclusa

Informazioni sull’articolo

Extraordinary and exceptionally rare sculptural floor lamp, model “Gaetano”, designed and produced by Luciano Frigerio for Frigerio di Desio in the late 1960s. This piece belongs to the celebrated “Scultura 99” collection, a limited edition of 99 sculptural artworks conceived by Frigerio as functional art objects. Each one is numbered, signed, and entirely handmade using solid brass, cast and shaped with exquisite craftsmanship. The Gaetano floor lamp is composed of massive brass sculptural elements, with significant weight and presence. The form is both architectural and expressive, embodying the unique artistic language of Frigerio’s modernist brutalism. It is signed by the artist and comes with its original certificate of authenticity issued by Frigerio’s heirs. The piece is in excellent vintage condition, with only minor signs of age consistent with its 50+ years. Please note: the lamp is sold without the lampshade shown in the photos. Please note: This item is in a very good vintage condition. Minor signs of age may be present but do not affect its functionality. We kindly ask you to consider these characteristics prior to purchase. Luciano Frigerio (1928–1999) was an Italian master designer, sculptor, and craftsman known for his visionary approach to functional art. Rather than following minimalist trends, Frigerio imagined furniture as sculpture — creating unique or limited-edition pieces in bronze, brass, and solid wood, produced with artisanal precision and deeply influenced by fine art. He worked with major architects and designers such as Gio Ponti, Franco Albini, and Sergio Asti, and transformed the family workshop into an internationally recognized design house. His “Scultura 99” and “Ultrabronzo” series represent some of the most collectible and sculptural expressions of Italian postwar design. Frigerio’s work has been exhibited in Milan’s Galleria del Sagrato and “Art Gallery” on Via Montenapoleone, and today remains highly sought after for its artistic strength, rarity, and expressive craftsmanship. About Scultura 99: “Scultura 99” is one of Luciano Frigerio’s most iconic artistic projects — a curated series of only 99 sculptural objects, each produced in limited edition and marked with authenticity and number. These works push the boundary between design and sculpture, making each object a collectible statement piece for connoisseurs and design collectors worldwide.
