Artist Karen d'Angeac Mihm used an early-season bouquet from her flower subscription as a reference in this still life. Drawn to the delicate shapes and graceful movement of the arrangement, she focused on capturing their quiet elegance and individuality. Set simply in a glass vase, the flowers become a gentle study of form and color, celebrating the exquisite beauty found in fleeting, everyday moments.

About the Artist
Artist Karen d'Angeac Mihm creates oil paintings that blend memories of her French upbringing with the serene beauty of the Midwest. "During the summer months, I set up outside and paint en plein air, and in winter, I work in my studio from photo references of recent travels that speak to me," says Karen. Born in Nice, France, she moved to the United States as a teenager and later left a career in corporate finance to stay home with her children. This transition led her to pursue art seriously, eventually studying at the Academy of Fine Art in Denmark, Wisconsin. She paints in her home studio, a bright second-floor space with three windows, high ceilings, and a view of the lake. When not painting, Karen enjoys morning exercise and spending time with her husband, two grown children, and their dog.
