Artist Biography:
Antra Richards was born on June 15, 1968, in Riga, Latvia. A gifted and accomplished artist, she graduated from the Janis Rozentals Art Secondary School and the Latvian Academy of Arts. Known for her emotionally evocative style, Antra currently devotes her practice to painting flowers, capturing their delicate beauty with intricate detail and a deep reverence for nature.
Antra's artistic journey has been one of continuous exploration and refinement. Her works are marked by a harmonious blend of emotion, precision, and atmosphere—qualities that deeply resonate with viewers. Influenced by her family's creative legacy, Antra’s passion for art emerged early. At just six years old, she held her first exhibition, a testament to her natural talent and early dedication.
Following her formal education, Antra collaborated with architects while also pursuing painting and interior design. She approaches each interior project with the same sensitivity and creativity she brings to her canvases, drawing inspiration from her favorite architect, the acclaimed Peter Zumthor.
Today, Antra exhibits her work in numerous exhibitions annually. For the past two years, she has lived and worked in Spain, where her studio serves as both a creative sanctuary and a lively space for painting masterclasses. These sessions allow her to share her passion and inspire emerging artists.
Antra’s love of nature fuels her artistic vision. She frequently visits botanical gardens and private estates around the world, gathering inspiration for her vibrant floral compositions. Through her art, she invites viewers into a world of colour, elegance, and serenity—each piece a window into the natural beauty she cherishes. For Antra, painting is as vital as breathing—an inseparable expression of her inner world and her deep connection to the life around her.
