Informazioni sull’articolo
Stunning bar cabinet created in 2020 by Jacques Leo and presented exclusively by JF Gallery.
The cabinet is made of marine plywood veneered with precious vintage woods in various shades—rosewood, walnut, maple, burl, mahogany—used to compose an intricate tarsia linea design depicting one of the artist’s classic subjects, entirely executed by Jacques Leo himself.
The piece features a central glass shelf, and the interior is fully lined in jacquard silk fabric, with a signature embroidered inside the drawer and a wax seal signature on the back.
The cabinet is completed by details in 24K gold leaf within the inlay designs, and brass elements such as legs and knobs.
This object was created as a unique piece and is the first prototype of the artist’s furniture production, as stated by the inscription “Furniture N°1” inside the drawer.
Upon request and by commission, it is possible to order custom variants in size and subject matter—each considered a unique piece and entirely handcrafted over hundreds of hours.

About the Artist:
Jacques Leo is a young emerging Italian artist who has devoted his life to art from early childhood. He began his artistic journey at the age of 3, repeatedly drawing the same subject, gradually enriching it with meaningful details that reflect a child's growing awareness. Thanks to the influential presence of his father, all material was documented and archived, providing a clear timeline of his artistic development.
The figurative element is ever-present in Jacques’s work and gradually gains form and vitality through constant study and personal growth. Philosophy, chemistry, geometry, alchemy, symbolism, and esotericism form the foundation of knowledge that clearly permeates his creations.
Deeply fascinated by shamanic culture, this theme is prominently featured in his artworks. Observing Jacques’s figurative shamanic subjects evokes a sense of ascetic mysticism, capable of transporting the viewer into the complex journey of the meditative mind.
Another essential element for Jacques is the Mandala. In Buddhist and Hindu traditions, the word Mandala represents a spatial configuration centered around a “core” or a “circle,” expressing an ancient concept of totality. Mandalas can be seen as geometric representations of varying complexity aimed at involving the entire Universe in the ritual act of prayer.
Materials such as hemp, soil, gold, and textiles frequently appear in his canvases, establishing Jacques not only as a scholar of different cultures but also as a master of material manipulation, integrating these elements seamlessly into his figurative—or abstract—subjects.
Jacques Leo is an artist with profound spiritual and material knowledge. His practices include painting, sculpture, tailoring, woodworking, marble and metalworking—just to name a few. Always ready to explore new materials sourced from Mother Nature, his aim is to elevate both his material craft and philosophical understanding to increasingly higher levels.
