Chicago Co-Op Remodel

This young family wanted a weekend getaway in the city steps from Michigan Avenue, the lake, and all the city has to offer. On East Lake Shore Drive, we found a vintage co-op with 2 neighboring apartments last updated in the 60s. We combined the 2 separate units into 1 lavish apartment with a gut-remodel, relocating the kitchen to the front of the apartment overlooking the lake. It needed fresh direction, so we took traditionalist cues from the 1930 s Benjamin Marshall building and paired that with modern styling, plus a hefty pop of color. The effect is equal parts striking and fresh, yet somehow a peaceful retreat...the perfect place to a weekend in the city.
