About the Item
This delightful antique bracelet was likely made in England at the turn of last century. Crafted from 15 karat yellow gold, this is often what is referred to as an 'illusion' bracelet, because of the optical illusion it displays when looked at front on. The hollow bracelet is hinged so it can fit over the hand, and terminates with a tongue and box clasp with attached safety chain. The bracelet is a perfect piece to stack with multiple other gold bangles and chains to create a layered effect. The piece presents in good antique condition with the usual minor dents and abrasions present associated with age and use. A lovely and very wearable piece of antique jewellery.

We are very excited to present this wonderful handcrafted bracelet by Mario Buccellati. The two tone bracelet consists of woven gold ovals of alternating 18 karat yellow and 18 karat white gold that has been woven or braided. The interlocked links have then been very finely brushed to give a softer matte finish which could be described as a Florentine finish. The bracelet features a tongue and box clasp and two figure of eight safety catches which are all incorporated into an integrated link clasp. The clasp and safety catches are working well and are secure, ensuring the piece stays on tightly with three points of attachment. Whilst this bracelet is on the smaller side in terms of its circumference it certainly makes up for that in its quality craftsmanship by arguably Italy's most highly regarded goldsmith, Mario Buccellati.
