About the Item
Exquisite and rare antique Straits Chinese bangle features a highly detailed, hollow-constructed dragon motif, with intricate Etruscan-style applied wire and granulation work. The delicate craftsmanship of the piece, including meticulous silver smithing and the incorporation of garnet stones, highlights the extraordinary skill required to create this bangle. Likely made in the Singapore region in the early 20th century, this is a fine example of Straits Chinese jewelry, a style influenced by both Chinese and Southeast Asian silversmithing traditions.
The bangle is handmade and, while unmarked, has been acid-tested to confirm its high-quality silver content. It features a hidden tongue-and-box clasp, adding both security and elegance to its design.

There are a few tiny dents and dings on the inner side of the bangle, but these are not visible when worn. The metal shows natural discoloration and darkening that comes with age, adding to its character. The clasp is in good working order.
