An Edwardian ruby, diamond, platinum, and yellow gold bangle, comprising for round cut rubies, three old European cut diamonds, and twenty-found old single cut diamonds, in platinum and 15 karat yellow gold.
My favourite thing about this Antique 15K Yellow Gold and Platinum Ruby and Diamond Bangle, is the elegant design. What’s yours? Perhaps the sparkling old cut diamonds? Or the glowing rubies?
This sophisticated bangle is designed as a slender openwork panel. Round cut rubies are bezel set in shining yellow gold, each a glowing, pinkish red hue, and well-matched with one another. The rubies are set alternatively with chunky old European cut diamonds. The diamonds are bezel set, and are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. They have good symmetry, are well cut, and have good clarity. The diamonds and rubies are interspersed with diamond set foliate motif, a spring from which 3 leaves extend, creating a graceful garland-like design. The small old cut diamonds on the leaves are held within platinum settings, contrasting against the yellow gold bezels. The bracelet opens on a hinge, and is fastened with a secure box clasp, complete with safety chain. The low profile of the design, allows the bangle to sit well against the wrist, feeling lovely to wear. The quality of this piece is evident. The bangle is in excellent condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
