About the Item
A unique modernist ,wide, pierced. sterling silver bangle bracelet, by Sven Haugaard, circa 1960.
Stamped SvH 925S.
SVEN HAUGAARD was born in 1933. He trained as a goldsmith with the well-known Viggo Wollny in Copenhagen, Denmark. Wollny hand-crafted silver and gold jewelry in a range of modernist, abstract, and classic styles between 1921 and 1973 in his "Fammik" workshop. Haugaard
was later employed by the famed silversmiths Anni and Bent Knudsen in Kolding. Eventually Sven, with his gifted wife, Hjordis, set up an independent workshop in 1962. Over the years, their workshop expanded successfully , producing modern silver works sold in Denmark and overseas.
