About the Item
An 18 karat yellow gold openwork hinged bangle by Temple St. Clair, depicting a repeating vine motif bordered on either side by gold beads. This bangle is hinged on one side and features a plunger closure with a figure eight safety for additional security.
The particular vine bangle on offer here is one of Temple St. Clair's earlier iterations, less wide than the current offerings. The vine, along with many of Temple St. Clair's other preferred motifs, hearkens back to Etruscan motifs, and this bangle is stylistically suited either to be worn by itself or in a stack of other bangles of similar thickness.
Temple St. Clair is the only American jewelry designer with works on permanent display at the Louvre in Paris.
