Not many people are aware that Newark, New Jersey was a major hub for the manufacture of jewelry from the late 1800s until the 1950s. One of the leading companies, the Riker Brothers, has an early history that dates back to 1846. Their beautiful pieces are quite sought after and still remain highly collectible today.
This stunning bangle bracelet from the Art Nouveau (ca1900s) era is a wonderful example of the Riker Brothers' talent! Crafted in vibrant 14k yellow gold, the bracelet is a slip-on style bangle. The entire exterior surface of the bangle is decorated with intricate floral, foliage, and scrolling-motif engravings. The interior of the bangle is stamped "14K" along with the Riker Brothers sword hallmark. The design is very versatile, and would look wonderful worn alone or stacked with other bangles. This wonderful Art Nouveau piece by a legendary jewelry maker would complement any collection!
Measurements: The inside of the bangle (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or design, and the hallmarks are intact.
