About the Item
This is a rare and wonderful antique Victorian Snake Bracelet with Royal Purple Amethyst gems, Emerald eyes and a European Cut Diamond and in 14 Karat Gold. The stunning jewel is centered with a snake curled around an oval amethyst cabochon. The snake has two Emerald cabochon eyes and an Old European Cut Diamond in the center. The wonderful design of the snake with its scales wrapped around the oval amethyst is stunning. On either side of the snake are two link chains leading to two further oval amethysts. The bracelet has a wonderful fob with five amethyst cabochons and a scrolling acanthus leaf repousse design. The amethysts are a very fine royal purple color that contrasts exquisitely with the emerald eyes and the warmth of the antique gold. The gold work on the snake is dramatic and very special and the emeralds and antique diamond combine to create a magical nature inspired jewel.
It is extremely rare to find these early snake jewels and we are so excited when we do! And snake jewelry is all the rage today. In the Victorian era the snake was the symbol of eternal love. It has come to symbolize sexuality, rebirth, wisdom and love. Wear the fabulous jewel every day or at the most glamorous affair. It is a treasure to be enjoyed and passed on for generations.
