About the Item
This striking antique conversion pendant (circa 1900–1910) was originally a cufflink, later transformed with the addition of a custom 14k gold domed back and jump ring for modern wear. The design showcases a finely detailed basilisk, the mythical serpent-king long associated with power and protection, set with a vivid green glass eye that lends a mesmerizing touch of color.
The piece measures 0.85 inches from the top of the jump ring to the base by 0.6 inches wide, and it remains in excellent condition. The gold content has been verified through XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, ensuring purity and authenticity.
