A bold and finely modeled antique charm (circa 1890), featuring a sculpted lion’s head in 10k gold, gripping a sparkling diamond in its jaws and accented with two pink glass eyes that lend vivid expression and character. The lion—an enduring symbol of strength, courage, and guardianship—was a powerful motif in late Victorian jewelry.
Originally an antique stickpin, the piece was expertly transformed by our jeweler, who removed the pin stem and added a 10k gold jump ring bail, preserving the original artistry while creating a versatile and wearable charm.
The charm measures approximately 0.8 inches from the top of the jump ring to the bottom by 0.55 inches wide and weighs 1.23 grams.
The gold has been professionally verified using XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis and confirmed with jeweler’s acid testing, authenticating its 10k composition. In excellent antique condition, this charm is a striking example of Victorian animal jewelry, perfect for collectors who appreciate expressive motifs and finely crafted miniature jewels.
