About the Item
A Victorian sapphire and diamond carved half hoop bangle, the nine oval-cut faceted sapphires weighing approximately 6.8 carats alternatively set with ten vertical rows of two round old brilliant-cut diamonds in-between weighing an estimated total of 2.20 carats, all claw-set to a hand carved scrolled gold mount and carved shoulders, to a hinged yellow gold bangle with snap clasp and safety chain, circa 1880, measuring approximately 0.8cm wide and 5cm in diameter, gross weight 20.50 grams.
This Victorian bangle is in very good condition.
Unmarked tested as 18ct gold.
A bright and sparkling bangle from the late Victorian era. This bracelet features a carved half hoop design with an intricate yellow gold scroll mount that holds alternating dazzling diamonds and bright hued sapphires. The sapphires are a wonderful cornflower blue, and the diamonds scintillate beautifully. This style of bangle was popular in the Victorian era but endures today due to its comfortable design and ease of wear. This piece comes from the collection of Bentley
