A wide archaeological revival gold bangle, with Etruscan-style wirework decoration to front and back with hidden clasp, Austro-Hungarian hallmark for Prague, 580 gold with unknown maker’s mark W.P., circa 1870, internal diameter approximately 6.6cm, gross weight 99.6 grams.
An impressive archaeological revival gold bangle, made in the late nineteenth-century. This bangle was made in Prague and incorporates many elements of the archaeological revival movement, which became popular during the nineteenth century as treasures of the ancient world were discovered. The delicate wirework applied to the bangle is of a distinctively Etruscan style and adds ornate and regal splendour to this piece. Made from impressive and thick gold, this fabulous bangle comes from the collection of Bentley
