About the Item
Bracelet in platinum, mascaron hallmark.
Splendid river of diamonds, it is composed with a fall articulated of old cut diamonds. The clasp is in the form of a ratchet with a safety 8 feature.
Total diamond weight: about 22 carats.
Diameter of the central diamond: about 8.5 mm, diamond diameter of the tip: about 3.6 mm.
Overall length: 19,3 cm, Width at widest: 9,7 mm, Thickness at widest: 6,5 mm.
Total weight : 25 g approximately.
Authentic antique bracelet - French work 1900.
Presented in its original case of the Maison Auger - Jeweler Place des Victoires in Paris with the initials of the family to which belonged this bracelet.
The founder of the House was called Alphonse Auger (1837-1904). He was trained as a Boucheron by the Marret brothers, he was a jewelry setter.
In 1862, according to Vever, he established himself as Joaillier and for many years was the official supplier of Lemoine and Mellerio-Borgnis.
It was Laura Matthews (New York), the great granddaughter of Gustav Manz who drew attention to this family.
At the beginning, it seems that Alphonse Auger had his workshop at 54 rue Etienne Marcel in Paris but around 1880 he moved to Place des Victoires in Paris.
