An exceptional, fine and impressive antique 4.31 carat diamond and synthetic ruby, 18 karat yellow gold, platinum set bracelet; part of our diverse antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections.
This exceptional, fine and impressive synthetic ruby and diamond bracelet has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with a platinum setting.
The bracelet consists of eight delicate pierced decorated, quatrefoil shaped articulated links, each ornamented with a feature collet set Old European round cut diamond to the centre of the arrangement.
Fourteen pavé set Old Dutch cut diamonds and nine channel set calibré cut synthetic rubies embellish the borders of each link; the stones alternating between the upper and lower borders.
The feature links interconnect and articulate via eight small links, each individually claw set with a Dutch cut diamond held in high relief.
This impressive antique ruby and diamond bracelet secures with a push fit clasp and benefits from the additional security of a fine link safety chain.
This antique bracelet has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18k gold and platinum.
The bracelet is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
NOTE: * Contrary to what many people may think, the word 'synthetic' does not mean fake when it comes to gemstones. In order for a material to be called 'synthetic' it must have a natural counterpart. A synthetic ruby will have the same chemical composition as a natural ruby and therefore have an almost identical appearance to the naked eye.
The first ruby formed by melting two smaller rubies together was in 1817, and the first microscopic crystals created from alumina in a laboratory in 1837.
Common practice was to set and enhance fine quality antique jewelry with vibrant and colorful synthetic stones.
Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone.
Condition
This original early 1900s antique bracelet is fine quality, set with one hundred and twenty very well color matched diamonds displaying a fine white color and brilliance.
The seventy-two impressive synthetic rubies display a fine color and brilliance.
The bracelet is a very good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of ruby jewelry.

The anterior face of the bracelet is embellished with a feature collet set 0.21ct Old European round cut diamond, encompassed with a pierced decorated floral head design accented with leaf motifs.
The intricately scalloped bordered, lozenge-shaped feature link bears fifty-four pavé set diamonds, in a combination of Old European round and Dutch cuts.
The central link is flanked to either side with smaller lozenge shaped links, each bearing a collet set Old European round cut diamond to the centre, encompassed with eighteen further pavé set diamonds.
The anterior links are conjoined via individually collet set Old European round cut diamonds, completing the design.
The links articulate via six platinum set curvilinear links, each conjoin with a plain bar link.
This diamond bracelet secures with an integrated push fit clasp, and benefits from the additional security of a safety chain.
This antique yellow gold bracelet with diamonds is hallmarked to the tongue with the 18k gold mark ( 750 ) and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold and platinum.
