This is a very rare and wonderful antique museum quality Victorian Coiled Serpent Snake Bracelet in 14 Karat Gold with a Rose Cut Diamond crown and cabochon Ruby Eyes dating to circa 1840. The bracelet is a wonderful adjustable mesh design in vibrant rich yellow gold. The dramatic head of the snake is adorned with a raised Rose Cut Diamond crown. The eyes are two Ruby cabochon gems. The snake's teeth are visible through the open mouth and the forked tongue extends from the mouth. This Museum Quality jewel is magnificent.
It is extremely rare to find these early snake jewels and we are so excited when we do! And snake jewelry is all the rage today.
In the Victorian era the snake was the symbol of eternal love. It has come to symbolize sexuality, rebirth, wisdom and love.
The bracelet has an adjustable length. It is approximately 1 inch wide. The head portion is 1.25 inches long.
The bracelet is 14 Karat Gold.
There is some minimal denting of the mesh near the head consistent with the almost 200 year old age of the bracelet.
The bracelet weighs 28.2 grams.
