About the Item
This Victorian bracelet was handcrafted in the middle of the 19th century in Scotland. Five grey and pink facetted granite elements, sometimes called pebbles, are set in engraved silver fittings. The elements are connected with silver rings. The links of the bracelet are held together by a padlock in the shape of a shield. The reverse of the padlock is fitted with the original oval convex glass that covers a small compartment which contains a braided lock of hair. The padlock clasp makes this bracelet a piece pf sentimental jewellery, the owner of the hair has chained him or herself around the wrist of the wearer.
