About the Item
This rather exceptional natural Burmese ruby and white sapphire bracelet dates to the Art Deco period and possibly originates in India. The sterling silver and 9 karat rose gold frame has been hand crafted and contains 14 oval cut natural Burmese rubies along with 32 brilliant cut colourless white sapphires. The total ruby weight is calculated to be 8.40 carat and each are classed as 'pink red natural rubies, old Burmese' in colour and origin. The bracelet is slightly graduated with the closure ends being slightly narrower than the centre of the piece. The piece closes with an integrated tongue and box clasp which has a figure of eight safety clasp along with a safety chain for added security. The outside edges of this beautiful piece are engraved with a delicate floral pattern adding to the charm of the bracelet. This piece was sourced locally in Brisbane and according to the grand daughter of the original owner it was likely sourced in India when her grandparents were living there in the early 20th Century. An absolutely beautiful Art Deco bracelet which stands beautifully alone or could be combined with several diamond tennis bracelets for a really glamorous look.
