About the Item

Art Deco Emerald and Diamond “Buckle” Bracelet in Platinum, French, circa 1930s. A dazzling celebration of Art Deco geometry and glamour, this exceptional bracelet is a masterclass in period design and craftsmanship. Composed of a honeycomb lattice of Old European brilliant-cut and Transitional round brilliant-cut diamonds, its rhythmic, articulated structure glows with movement and light. Five vivid emerald-cut emeralds, of richly saturated green hue and graduated proportions, anchor the composition in opulent symmetry, each haloed in delicate single-cut diamonds. The bracelet culminates in striking geometric buckle-shaped terminals, meticulously pierced and pavé-set with diamonds, and accented with pear-shaped emeralds at either end—an ode to Deco’s fascination with architecture and modernity. The hidden clasp, invisibly integrated into the design, is set with baguette-cut diamonds, ensuring the silhouette remains fluid and uninterrupted. This bracelet features a beautifully balanced mix of old European-cut, transitional brilliant-cut, single-cut, and baguette-cut diamonds, all set in finely pierced platinum galleries with open backs, allowing maximum light to flood each stone. Likely of French origin, and stamped “PLATINE,” the piece bears a partially legible maker’s mark—possibly “BL” or “BD.” A rare survivor of its era, this bracelet offers both collectors and connoisseurs a wearable work of art—striking, elegant, and undeniably glamorous. Why we love it: This bracelet is the epitome of Art Deco sophistication—a perfect harmony of structure, color, and sparkle. Whether worn alone or paired with other period jewels, it delivers presence, provenance, and enduring allure.
