About the Item
A breathtaking 21-Carat Art Deco diamond geometric buckle tank bracelet in platinum and white gold, French, 1930s. This jewel is composed of a sequence of pave-set diamond plaques accented to the center with a large old brilliant-cut diamond, flanked on both sides by two rows of pave-set diamond half-barrel-shape terminals in the tank fashion, leading to a similarly-set diamond clasp in the shape of a stylized openwork buckle. This bracelet is set with Old Mine-cut, Old European brilliant-cut and single-cut diamonds; all stones set in open-back articulated settings with intricately pierced openwork galleries. This jewel is secured with an invisible fold-over clasp and a safety chain fitting.
Diamonds: approximately 21 carats in total (estimated), average G-I color (assessed), average VS-SI clarity (assessed). Marked “PLATINE”; maker’s mark “AI” inside a lozenge; later Portuguese import marks for 900/1000 platinum and 800/1000 (19.2kt) gold. Dimensions: 19.5 x 2.5cm. Gross weight: 88.6g.
