Black, Starr Frost Edwardian Diamond and Mississippi River Pearl Bracelet

About the Item

Founded in 1810 by French silversmith Isaac Marquand, who immigrated to the United States, Black, Starr Frost is the oldest continually operating jewelry store in the U.S. The firm’s name changed to Ball, Tompkins Black, and was one of a few American jewelers invited to exhibit in the London Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition in 1851. Partnerships and names changed many times until Robert C. Black, Cortland W. Starr, and Aaron Vail Frost reimagined the operation under the name Black, Starr Frost in 1876. World-renowned for its finely crafted, one-of-a-kind jewelry and watches, Black, Starr Frost has catered over the centuries to legendary clients such as the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Carnegies, Guggenheims, the Prince of Windsor, and various Hollywood movie stars. Currently headquartered in Newport Beach, CA, with a second showroom in Phoenix, the company is now owned by the Molina Group, headed by an 11th generation jewelry maker, Alfredo J. Molina. A beautiful bracelet by Black, Starr Frost! Crafted in platinum, this bracelet alternates between six Missisissipi pearls and six open-oval links, each with a diamond-encrusted leaf design. The pearls each have a unique, natural shape and a wonderful white luster, perfectly complementing the bright diamond sparkle. The backside of the Mississippi pearl links displays a flower design, a lovely hidden detail. The underside of the pearl link next to the bracelet's securing spring ring reads "B.S&", a partial hallmark covered by a minor reinforcement. This feminine bracelet would be wonderful for a pearl lover, and would make a fantastic addition to any Edwardian collection! The bracelet measures approximately 7" long. The pearls are all unique, measuring an average of 11/16" in diameter and the oval links are 9/16" wide.

Repaired: There is a minor repair at the pearl link next to the spring ring, but this may be a reinforcement from the original crafting rather than a later repair. Wear consistent with age and use. The six diamonds are intact and securely set. The six Mississippi pearls display normal surface wear, an intact nacre, no notable damages, and are securely set.
