About the Item

Established in Verona in 1879, Italian jewelry designer Carlo Weingrill, was a master of 18kt gold jewelry. Each handcrafted piece features top quality craftsmanship that has been handed down today through the generations. Carlo began working as an apprentice in a goldsmith shop at the age of 11 and in 1879, at 22, he decided to open his own factory. Carlo Weingrill was the original manufacturer behind some of the most classic and recognizable designs in jewelry including Bulgari’s famous tubogas-style bracelets, necklaces and rings, various gold cuffs for Tiffany Co. and the Trinity bangle bracelets for Cartier. He died in 1924, and his two sons, Armando and Gastone, took over, transforming the small artisan business into a high-powered industry, gaining a worldwide reputation for fine workmanship. Carlo's granddaughter, Paola Weingrill, who grew up in the jewelry factory, runs the business today and still employs the same handcrafted artisanship into each piece. This incredible gold Vintage bracelet is a fantastic example of the Weingrill artisanship! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, this stylish piece is comprised of twelve interlocking mariner style links, which together form a straight but flexible design. Each link is smoothly polished on all sides and features a diamond-shaped bar at the center. The large links wrap comfortably around the wrist, and the eye-catching surface reflects the light beautifully with every movement. The bracelet fastens with a hinged clasp and safety latch hidden within the last link, creating a perfectly seamless design. Various stamps are found along the inside bar of the last link, including the signature Weingrill hallmark, a "750" gold purity mark, "ISVR," and "DEPOSE." The attractive design is a bold and classic statement piece, and looks equally stylish whether worn alone or stacked with other complimentary bracelets! The bracelet measures 8.75" long, and each link is approximately 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick. It would fit nicely on a medium to large sized wrist. The bracelet has a pennyweight of 46.00dwt (71.6 grams).
