About the Item

Established in Verona in 1879, Italian jewelry designer Carlo Weingrill, was a master of 18kt gold jewelry. Each handcrafted piece features top quality craftsmanship that has been handed down today through the generations. Carlo began working as an apprentice in a goldsmith shop at the age of 11 and in 1879, at 22, he decided to open his own factory. Carlo Weingrill was the original manufacturer behind some of the most classic and recognizable designs in jewelry including Bulgari’s famous tubogas-style bracelets, necklaces and rings, various gold cuffs for Tiffany Co. and the Trinity bangle bracelets for Cartier. He died in 1924, and his two sons, Armando and Gastone, took over, transforming the small artisan business into a high-powered industry, gaining a worldwide reputation for fine workmanship. Carlo's granddaughter, Paola Weingrill, who grew up in the jewelry factory, runs the business today and still employs the same handcrafted artisanship into each piece. This incredible Vintage bamboo bracelet is a fantastic example of the Weingrill artisanship! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, each link forms the shape of oversized "bamboo" circles to create a very substantial look and feel. Each open link has a smooth surface on one side and a brushed gold surface on the other, giving the bracelet a reversible design. Chunky bar hinges connect each link together, making the bracelet flexible and comfortable to wear. Grooved accents on the surface of each link provide extra depth and texture. The piece fastens with a bamboo-shaped toggle clasp that fits through the final open ring and stamped on the toggle bar is the signature Weingrill hallmark, "750" and "ISVR." This bold and fashionable piece makes a stunning statement and would compliment any ensemble. Perfect for the fashion-forward woman, it would make a fabulous addition to any collection! The bracelet measures approximately 8 1/2" long (excluding the toggle clasp) and would fit nicely on an average sized wrist. Each large bamboo link has a 1 5/8" diameter and measures 3/8" at the thickest point. The overall pennyweight of the piece is 73.2dwt (113.9 grams).

Condition:
Wear consistent with age and use. The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the gold bamboo links. The toggle clasp and safety catch are both secure and in good working condition.
