About the Item
Riviera bracelet designed by Gübelin.
This is an exceptional riviera bracelet created in Zurich Switzerland by the jewelry house of Gübelin, back in the 1990. The bracelet has been crafted in solid white gold of 18 karats with high polished finish and embellished with a magnificent selection of fifty-four natural gemstones, such white colorless diamonds and vivid royal-blue sapphires. The bracelet is fitted with concealed security push box and a hinged figure eight slash for extra safety. The magnificent sapphires are perfectly calibrated in transparency, color saturation, size, and all are full brilliant cut.
Country: Zurich, Switzerland.
Period: Modernist, 1980-1990.
Designer: Gübelin.
Diamonds: Mount in flat four-prongs settings, with 15 calibrated round brilliant cuts diamonds, with a combined total weight of about 1.50 carats, white colorless E/F color, VS-1 clarity.
Sapphires: Mount in flat four-prongs settings, with 39 calibrated round brilliant cuts vivid royal blue sapphires, with a combined total weight of about 5.85 carats,
Birthstone: Sapphires for the month of September.
Weight: 13.60 Grams, (8.75 Dwt.).
Length: 7.25 Inches, (18.4 Cm.).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the Gübelin maker's mark monogram, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt white gold, the eight-digits serial numbers and signed in full as follows, "GUBELIN .750 41A.0058.8".
Gübelin
The house of Gübelin was founded in 1854 when Mauritz Breitschmid opened a watchmaker's shop on the Pfister Gasse in Lucerne. a few years later, in 1861, Eduard Jakob Gübelin was born in eastern Switzerland. he subsequently moved to Lucerne and was apprenticed to the watchmaker Mauritz Breitschmid. The year 1886 marked a special occasion in the young watchmaker's life as Eduard Jakob Gübelin married bertha Sophia Breitschmid, the daughter of his old master. In the same year, the two men became business partners, managing the growing company together. In the 1920s Gübelin opened its own jewelry atelier and at the same time set up a small gemological laboratory so that it could test – and be sure of the authenticity – of the stones its jewelers used. It also continued making and repairing fine watches for a discerning clientele, developing a reputation that soon reached throughout Europe and overseas. Since 1854, the house of Gübelin has always been in the hands of the family and led by a family member throughout time the Gübelin family carefully nurtured its traditions. It kept the company’s core values alive and passed them on to the next generation which contributed to the success and growth of the Swiss house.
