About the Item

Articulated bracelet in gilded bronze, featuring a symmetrical design of rectangular elements with stepped lateral projections, joined by a central clasp topped with a fleur-de-lis. Signed with the initials “L.V.” Length: 17.8 cm. Circa 1950 Line Vautrin (1913–1997) was a French artist and designer known for her innovative work in jewelry and decorative arts. She is especially famous for her use of mirror, bronze, and engraved glass techniques. Line Vautrin’s jewelry is known for its originality, poetic spirit, and handcrafted quality. Her pieces often feature symbolic motifs, wordplay, and a sense of mystery. Rather than luxury, her jewelry emphasizes artistic expression and individuality. In 1992, she received the National Award for Crafts for her work in decoration. She passed away in April 1997, two years before the exhibition that the Musée des Arts Décoratifs was to dedicate to her in Paris.
