About the Item
This stunning Talosel link bracelet was crafted by one of Line Vautrin's students in the 1970s. The brown Talosel or resin geometric multi-strand shape is encrusted with green and orange cabochons on a silver foil background. The piece boasts a spring-ring closing clasp and a gilt metal chain for length flexibility.
Measurements: The bracelet's total length is 11.44 in (29 cm). The width is 1.88 in (4.7 cm). The bracelet's resin part alone is 8.07 in (20.5 cm) long. The bracelet is best suited for a Medium to large size wrist with a circumference of 7.5 to 9 in.
Reference: TALOSEL is a material created by LINE VAUTRIN, made of synthetic resin elaborated at the end of WWII. This 1950s patented term is an acronym for aceTAte de celluLOSe ELabore (Elaborate Cellulose Acetate).
Note:
In the 1970s, the boutique Line Vautrin opened on the Left Bank in Paris, and it was doing well. However, Line is a designer, not a manager, and she needs to be involved in the creation process. She plans to open and lead a school where she will teach others her manufacturing processes. Her daughter, Marie-Laure Bonnaud-Vautrin, taught there for ten years. The students are both enthusiasts who come to spend their free time and also artists searching for new techniques. Some artists who attended the Line Vautrin School include Irena Jaworska and Monique Vedie.
Line Vautrin decided to shut down the school in the early 1980s.
