Retro modernist bangle-watch designed by Universal Genève. Beautiful statement piece created in Genève Swiss by the Universal Watch Company, back in the 1950. This mechanical bangle-watch was made during the post war period with retro modernist scalloped and fluted patterns. Crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and fitted with a retractable hidden window to discover the watch's dial. The two sections of the bracelet are made up with a bold mesh of wires and a security boxed push lock with a hinged slash, for extra safety. This ladies wristwatch is very unusual and rare, the design and the system are very Avant Garde. Dial: Round golden, analog with batons and gold hands. Inscribed Universal Genève Swiss. Movement: Swiss, mechanical and manual winding. Weight: 120.5 Grams, (77.24 Dwt). Size: The inside free circumference is 6.80 Inches (17.5 Cm). Measurements: The main central section is 62 mm by 20 mm (2.44 x 0.79 Inches) and raise 18 mm over the wrist. Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold, the serial numbers and signed, "UNIVERSAL GENEVE 160800 18kt .750". Universal Genève Universal Genève SA is a Swiss luxury watch company, founded in 1894 as Universal Watch. Since its beginnings, the company has produced complete watches with in-house movements. Along with neighboring Geneva companies Audemars Piguet, Girard-Perregaux, Patek Philippe and Rolex, Universal is internationally regarded for its style of craftsmanship as a manufacture d'horlogerie. Universal Genève is known for creating the first-ever chronograph in 1917. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this bangle is excellent.
