Exquisitely crafted, this bracelet makes a beautiful statement with timeless appeal. Crafted entirely from rosy 18K gold, each link alternates textured and polished detailing.
Bold braclets such as this example were popular during the retro-era, when bigger was better and jewels were worn to make a statement. Meticulously crafted, each link is smooth and supple so the bracelet comfortably encircles your wrist and compliments any outfit. Similar style bracelets were inspired by the armored Allied Forces vehicles crossing Europe, the metal links formed in the style of “tank tracks;” hence the name “tank bracelet.” Patriotic jewelry was joyfully - and rebelliously, in occupied countries - embraced during WWII. “V for Victory” brooches were popular, as was pearl jewelry to commemorate Pearl Harbor; Van Cleef
Arpels released their “Hawaii” collection of floral designs with red, white and blue flowers and Mauboussin designed a liberation Jeep brooch. To the great annoyance of German armed forces, Cartier protested France’s occupation with their famous 1942 “Bird in a Cage,” design, displayed in their Rue de la Paix storefront window.
