About the Item
A vintage sapphire and diamond set 18 karat yellow gold snake flexible bracelet.
This charming snake bracelet, coils around the wrist of the wearer, and expands to fit any wrist size.
Excellently crafted as a realistically modelled snake and grain set with rose cut diamond eyes of 0.02ct and finished with a bezel set cushion cut sapphire of 0.76ct approximately of deep royal blue colour to the top of its head. With a plain polished finish.

Whilst the use of the snake motif in jewellery has been around since the Ancient Greek civilisation, it really came into its own during the Victorian era.
It was Queen Victoria herself who bought snake jewellery to the forefront when she was presented with a snake engagement ring set with her birthstone an emerald by her husband-to-be, Prince Albert.
The Victorians associated the snake motif with eternal love.
Condition - Overall the condition of the bracelet is very good, with some abrasions and discolourations to the surface of the gold, in keeping with its general age, this can be seen in the photographs listed.
