A young woman, wearing a white muslin dress à la greque and a blue shawl, is pointing to a word or possibly writing it onto a lage marble slate in a garden setting. The miniature has been painted on card with gouache and watercolor and is set in it's original oval engraved gold setting having retained it's original bevelled glas.
