About the Item
An Art Deco diamond-set double-clip brooch, consisting of two clips each with a semicircle of matte polish, and diamond-set geometric and asymmetric decorations, the old brilliant and baguette-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 2.7 carats in total, all mounted in platinum, with white gold brooch fittings, bearing French import gold marks, circa 1930, measuring 4.2 x 1.9cm, gross weight 13 grams.
A charming Art Deco double-clip brooch. This glittering brooch was made in the 1930s and features a wonderful asymmetric design of two clips. Both clips feature an array of baguette cut and old mine cut diamonds arranged around a circular central piece with a matte finish. The matte finish provides a striking contrast to the sparkling diamonds and bright platinum, making this a wonderful example of late Art Deco design. This piece comes from the collection of Bentley and Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and can be worn as a single brooch or split apart to be worn as a double clip.
This vintage double-clip brooch IS in very good condition for its age. The mount tested as platinum, the fittings bearing French 18ct gold marks.
