About the Item
Ben Rosenfeld Mid-Century Duck Brooch in Diamond, Ruby and Gold, London, 1961. A delightful example of British Mid-Century whimsy, this charming brooch by Ben Rosenfeld is modelled as a jaunty mallard, crafted in 18kt yellow and white gold. The duck’s body is richly textured, contrasted by a polished fan tail and Florentine-finished head and feet, lending it a lifelike character. The expressive eyes are set with circular-cut ruby and single-cut diamonds, adding a twinkle of mischief to its gaze. Secured to the reverse with a hinged pin and roller clasp fitting.
About Ben Rosenfeld:
A celebrated British jeweller based in Hatton Garden, Ben Rosenfeld traded from 1959 to 1987. His bold, often humorous designs earned him international recognition during the 1960s and ’70s. Today, his pieces are sought-after collectibles, with examples held in the Victoria
Albert Museum, London.
