Claudino de Oliveira Art Deco Diamond Clip Pin Brooches in Platinum, Portugal, 1940s. An exceptional pair of Art Deco double clip brooches by Portuguese jeweller Claudino de Oliveira, crafted circa 1940 in platinum. Designed with the dynamism and architectural elegance emblematic of the Art Deco period, these brooches are a masterclass in precision, geometry, and light play.
Each brooch unfurls in a graceful, ribbon-like scroll—sculptural in form yet fluid in spirit. The surfaces are grain- and channel-set with a remarkable composition of 252 multi-cut diamonds, meticulously chosen and arranged for brilliance and contrast.
This sophisticated pairing features the maker’s mark for Claudino de Oliveira, who worked in Lisbon from 1938 to 1973, along with the Lisbon platinum hallmark (500‰) in use between 1938 and 1984—both confirming the origin and authenticity of this rare pair of brooches.
Housed in their original fitted navy-blue case by Joalharia do Carmo, who commission them from Claudino’s workshop a few decades ago, these brooches offer exceptional versatility—worn individually or as a pair, they elevate any ensemble with architectural glamour and timeless sparkle.
