About the Item
A particularly nice example of a tortoise shell pique brooch, with a raised dancer, swishing her skirt in time as she plays her instrument. Bits of yellow gold are inlaid into the tortoise shell to form a gleaming border and frame, as well as adding dimension to the figure around her waist and neck. The brooch is rater substantial in size, measuring 1.75 inches in diameter, however, tortoise shell is light weight. The brooch is finished with a safety chain.
