Elegant retro brooch modelled in the form of an enchanting flower bouquet of shimmering gold leaves, glowing ruby flower buds, and glittering diamond accents. The central part of the brooch is rendered in 18 karat yellow gold which is also the setting for approximately 5 carats of oval and marquise shape rubies. An estimated 2 carats of sparkling round-brilliant cut diamonds are set in complimenting platinum. The gold and platinum leaves are crafted in eye-catching sculptural detail and there is a wonderful three-dimensional quality to the brooch. The vibrant color-contrast of sparkling white diamonds and fiery red rubies, as well as that of warm yellow gold and cool platinum, gives this brooch a special liveliness and charm. The brooch silhouette is stylishly elongated and it is lavishly sized at 2.8in (7cm) length and 1in (2.5cm) width. It is in very good condition and features a single-pin backing with the safety-catch. The brooch dates to the highly collectible retro 1950s era and is of French design.
