About the Item

This contemporary brooch, named N2, belongs to the Bamboo collection and is made of frosted silver with a not-shining wabi-sabi surface. It was designed by Polya Medvedeva, an abstract ink calligraphist and oil painter from Berlin, as part of the Bamboo triptych, to be worn together with the other brooches in the collection like ink calligraphy. The brooch has been featured in Vogue, Elle, and Zoot magazines and its texture and lines reflect the Japanese wabi-sabi tradition. The design of the Bamboo collection is based on the calligraphy principle of 'line and spot', representing the balance between "chaos and order". This jewel can be worn in multiple ways and fits well with the other brooches in the collection. Later on, the artist added gemstones such as diamonds, spinels, tanzanites, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires to the brooches.
