An art deco brooch designed by Bailey Banks & Biddle. An exquisite piece created by Bailey Banks & Biddle, during the glorious art deco period, circa 1925. This brooch scream art deco with its old cut stone, millegrain etchings and elegant design. The quality of this brooch is breathtaking and was carefully crafted with impeccable attention to details in solid .900/.999 platinum. It is fitted with an horizontal hinged bar with a security mechanical lock and is embellished with an outstanding selection of diamonds and sapphires and the gemstones settings are finished with the difficult technique of millegrain. These sapphires have French calibre cutting style and they display the most beautiful blue color throughout. The diamonds on the other hand add an incredible amount of brilliance to the piece with their excellent quality. The brooch remain in excellent physical condition with absolutely no replacement in any gemstone. Diamonds: Mount in millegrain French settings, with 60 Old European round cut diamonds, 2.54 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity Sapphires: Mount in channel settings, with a suite of 36 French caliber cut of natural blue sapphires with a total of 2.20 carats. These sapphires are intense royal blue, non heated and most probably from the Kashmir or the Pailin regions. Birthstone: Sapphires for the month of September. Weight: 7.62 Grams, (4.89 Dwt). Measures: Diameter of 36 mm (1.42 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark inside two circled cartouche, the hallmark for the assay of the platinum and signed, "BB&B". This stunning, fine and impressive antique sapphire cluster ring/brooch has been crafted in 18k yellow gold. The pierced decorated, cluster design is ornamented with a stunning central feature claw set oval cut 4.50ct blue sapphire. The sapphire is surrounded by sixteen impressive individually claw set Old European round cut diamonds, totalling 1.46cts. The plain ring shoulders integrate with the lower portion of the setting and blend seemlessly with the shank. This versatile piece of antique jewellery may also be worn as a sapphire brooch via a screw fitment to the reverse of the central cluster design. The original 18k yellow gold bar brooch frame has a central screw fitment, flanked with trifurcating strands enveloped with a cuff design to a fleur-de-lis style terminal to either end. A stunning antique Victorian 1.25 carat sapphire and 3.43 carat diamond, 14 karat yellow and white gold pendant / brooch; part of our diverse antique jewellery collections. This stunning, fine and impressive Victorian pendant has been crafted in 14k yellow gold with a 14k white gold setting. The cluster design is ornamented to the centre with an eight claw set 1.25ct cushion cut sapphire. The surrounding stepped setting is embellished with a total of thirty-two pavé set Old European round cut diamonds, totalling 3.43cts. The pendant suspends from a later (circa 1960) 9k yellow gold fine curb chain via a hinged 14k white gold latch back bale. The chain secures with a conventional spring loaded bolt ring fastening.
