The antique brooch has been modelled in the form of a basket of flowers.
The flowers are represented by twenty-three impressive millegrain decorated bezel and pavé set diamonds, in a combination of Old European round and eight-cut.
The pierced decorated basket design is further embellished with twisted rope ornamentation and applied ball motifs.
The terminals at either end of the bar are each ornamented with a single bezel set diamond.

The brooch has English hallmarks, stamped with a lion, an anchor, and the date letter is 'S'. The makers mark is AJS for Arthur Johnson Smith. This means that the brooch is sterling silver, assayed in Birmingham, and is dated 1892. Measuring length 4.1cm / 1.6 inches by maximum width 8.5mm / .33 inch. The clasp works well.
