A pair of French, Art Deco cufflinks, by Albert Clericetti, with circular, white enamel heads, featuring a geometric design, picked out in fine gold lines, with a millegrain edged flower cluster in the centre, grain set with rose-cut diamonds, mounted in gold, with French eagle head marks, for 18ct gold and A C, with a winged foot, maker's marks, on open carabiner bar fittings between the links, circa 1930.
Albert Clericetti was a French master jeweller who specialised in enamel and gemstone cufflinks, particularly during the 1920s and 1930s. His maker's mark, a lozenge, with a winged foot, with an A above and a C below, was registered in 1902. His addresses were, 1187 rue du Temple, 18 rue Daunou, in 1923 and 35 rue de Valois, in Paris. He produced works for Lacloche Freres.

Larter & Sons, established in 1865 as Davis & Elcox, in Newark, New Jersey, USA. From 1870 to 1873 the company traded as Elcox & Barnet, when William H. Barnet became a partner. The firm was trading as Henry Elcox & Co., in Maiden Lane, New York, from 1873 to 1890. Henry Elcox was in partnership with his brother-in-law, Frederick H. Larter and Horace Bedell. The manufacturing was managed by Elcox and business by Larter. Elcox died in 1890. From 1890 to 1895 the company was called Larter, Elcox & Co., with with Larter, his sister Mrs. A. A fine and impressive pair of octagonal 18 karat yellow gold men's Cartier cufflinks with enamel decoration; part of our diverse vintage cufflink collections.
These fine and impressive vintage cufflinks have been crafted in 18k yellow gold.
The gold cufflinks have an octagonal form.
The anterior and posterior links are each ornamented with a panel of finely tooled decoration encompassed with a segmented hot enamel border.
These vintage men's Cartier cufflinks articulate to the reverse via a connecting bar and link chain.
The cufflinks are hallmarked to the reverse with the French 18k gold mark (eagle's head) and the serial number 8655; one link of each cufflink also bears the maker's mark (Cartier) and 'Made in France'.
Condition
These vintage Cartier gold octagonal cufflinks are excellent quality, as to be expected from this renowned goldsmith.
The impressive hot enamel decoration to the surface of each link is in excellent condition.
The cufflinks are an excellent gauge of gold and are in excellent condition, with clear hallmarks to the reverse of the links.
