this magnificent Pair of Drop / Pendant Earrings
date from mid-Victorian era
is a fine
rare example of Antique Etruscan Revival jewelry.
Etruscan Revival pieces reflect the fascination of Victorian era women with the Etruscans
(ancient people who lived on the west coast of Italy between 700-300 BC),
and inspired by their superb jewelry designs.

Each features a Victorian Shell Cameo,
depicting 2 ladies, standing out in relief against caramel background
each cameo is measuring 11mm x 14mm
set in an intricately designed frame
of scroll motif,
finely detailed
against mesh gold surround
frame measures 23mm x 25mm
Suspending from a ring bail,
completed by comfortable easy-to-wear shepherd hooks
Total length: 45mm
