About the Item
These dramatic, attenuated dangle earrings -- 2-⅝" in length -- are faithful modern reproductions of an early 1920's French design and are perfect for the 21st Century Flapper.
Each platinum earring has five distinct pieces:
The top and bottom pieces are black and red enameled open shapes (teardrop on top, circle on bottom) with round, brilliant-cut diamonds in bezels that "float" within, thanks to tiny spokes. The top diamond is about 0.03 carats. The bottom diamond is approximately 0.55 carats (we rate it I color and VS1-2 clarity).
The diamond tab has three columns and one circlet pavé-set with 26 good-quality round melee diamonds.
The fourth and fifth segments are black and red enameled bars graduating in width from super-slim to still-very-slim.
Each segment is hinged to allow for movement.
The total diamond weight is approximately 1.4 carats. The total weight, including the platinum butterfly backs, is 11 grams.

These magnificent earrings came to us as a magnificent fur clip, but Eytan decided they would get more wear on some lucky earlobes.
The workmanship is incredible. Every stone -- all 219 of them -- is neatly backholed. Every petal and every ribbon is different. The stones vary minutely in size to perfectly accommodate their particular component.
The fierce green emerald pear cabochons show typical inclusions. One is darker and slightly larger than the other, just as the earrings themselves are not carbon copies of each other. The lighter emerald shows a small abrasion near the upper left prong. The estimated weights of these beautiful old souls are 3.2 carats and 2.8 carats.
