Pair of clips-on earrings designed by Christopher Walling.
This is a beautiful pair of clips-on earrings, created by the jewelry designer Christopher Walling, back in the late 1970. The earrings has been crafted as a left and ring, with organic patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished and brushed finishes. They are both embellished with two asymmetric carvings of black ebony wood, which reinforce the naturalistic theme. They are fitted at the reverse with comfortable hinged omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of gold post for pierced ears may be easily done.
Christopher Walling
He was encouraged to pursue his artistic passions from a very young age. His father worked for the United Nations and then became an architect, while his mother was a resistance fighter during World War II. Surrounded by philanthropists, artists, and forward thinkers naturally lead Walling on a creative path in life. After Christopher’s birth, his father immediately purchased jewels from a Russian antiquity dealer with which to shower his mother. His mother’s jewelry collection, in turn, greatly inspired Walling throughout his career. Walling opened his own studio in 1973. A lover of pearls and vivid gemstones, his aim is to create whimsical yet bold pieces. He was described by Sotheby’s as “undoubtedly one of the most exciting jewelry designers”, his creations have adorned many celebrities. Among them Maya Angelou, Linda Gray, Brook Hayward, Jasper Johns, Alex Katz, Queen Noor of Jordan, Danielle Steele, Renee Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor and others.
