About the Item
These unusual and pretty earrings were created by the Parisian costume jeweller Françoise Montague in the 1980s.
Condition Report:
Very Good - A little rubbing to the gold plating in some areas. This is only apparent upon very close inspection and does not detract from the appeal of the earrings.
The Details...
These earrings are constructed from gold plated metal. They feature a floral design and are detailed with gold plated metal leaves, which are hand wired to the earring backs so that they move up and down. They also feature multi-coloured round glass beads and a central faux pearl. The earrings are clip on and feature a backing detailed with concentric circles, which is typical of pieces produced by the Françoise Montague company. They each measure 4.5cm in diameter.
A Short History...
Françoise Montague established her costume jewellery brand in Paris in 1945. She designed pieces for couture houses, such as Nina Ricci. The company is still in existence today.
