Convertible clip-on earrings designed by Kutchinsky. Gorgeous pair of convertible earrings, created in London England by the jewelry house of Kutchinsky back in the 1970. This exceptional pair has been finely crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and four sections in solid platinum. The four sections with the rubies can be removed to wear the diamonds parts alone. Fitted with very comfortable hinged French omega backs for fastening clips and the post for pierced ears can be easily added if is need. The fine selection of gemstones displayed in this pair are exceptional, the diamonds are all calibrated white colorless and the rubies are fabulous Burmese vivid red, pigeon blood type and Not Heated. Diamonds: Mount in four-prongs settings, with 62 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 11.78 carat, white colorless F color, VS clarity. Rubies: Mount in four-prongs settings, with 44 calibrated round faceted cut of natural vivid red Burmese rubies, with an estimate weight of 9.24 carat, Birthstone: Rubies for the month of July. Weight: 34.95 Grams, (22.41 Dwt). Measurements: 30 mm by 22 mm (1.18 x 0.87 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and the platinum and signed, "KUTCHINSKY 18KT PLAT". Kutchinsky Limited They was a jewelry company founded in the 1890 and was always based in London, United Kingdom. They has been very well know jewelry makers, with attention to fine quality, craft and well-made designed pieces, This piece was made in the late of the 1960's when the company was more focused on larger pieces right in step with the style of the sixties and seventies. As usual made in 18 karats gold this piece is one of the perfect examples of the late Kutchinsky mid-century and modernist taste. Burmese Rubies It has been proven that rubies mined in Burma, in the Mogok Valley to be more precise, have the highest quality out of all rubies. What makes them stand out is the intense red color, otherwise known as pigeon blood, that they exhibit. Another quality that makes Burma rubies the best is their high levels of fluorescence. Burmese rubies are the rarest gemstone in the world due to their intense red brilliance accentuated by pink. The majority of the rubies mined in Burma are then heated to improve color and clarity. Natural Red Color Gemstones that are inherently pure and bright like the ones in these pair are extremely rare. Collateral: They are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
